Unsere ersten Tierbeobachtungen erleben wir im Lake Manyara Nationalpark mit seiner artenreichen Vogelwelt. Anschließend erleben wir eine unvergessliche Pirschfahrt durch den Nogorongoro Krater, dem "achten Weltwunder“, bevor wir in die weiten Ebenen des Serengeti Nationalparks fahren. Hier werden wir die vielfältige Tierwelt der Serengeti auf einer ganztägigen Pirschfahrt entdecken. Zum Abschluss besuchen wir dann noch den Tarangire Nationalpark, der für seine große Elefantenpopulation bekannt ist. Während unserer Safari werden wir INNERHALB des Tarangire- und Serengeti Nationalparks übernachten. Dies stellt einen großen Vorteil gegenüber anderen Tansania-Reisen dar, denn wir sind schon längst auf Pirschfahrt während viele Andere noch am Parkeingang stehen. Als Verlängerung der Reise bietet sich ein Aufenthalt auf der Gewürzinsel Sansibar oder dem noch unentdeckten Inselparadies Mafia Island mit der Möglichkeit zum Schnorcheln mit Walhaien an. Unterwegs halten sie am Haus von Mama Sophie. Sie erklärt die Kunst des Kaffeeanbaus und zeigt, wie er verarbeitet, geschält und geröstet wird. Die vom Steilabbruch herab rieselnden Bäche speisen den flachen Sodasee und haben im Nordteil des Parks eine Waldoase mit üppiger Vegetation entstehen lassen. Im Park sind vor allem Elefanten, Büffel, Giraffen, unzählige Paviane sowie Impalas und Löwen zu sehen. Die Ufer des Manyara Sees bieten Flamingos üppige Nahrung. An den Zuflüssen des Sees leben zahlreiche weitere Wasservögel. Sie liegt am Rande von Karatu, zwischen dem Manyara-See und dem Ngorongoro-Krater. 32 Gästezimmer mit Doppel- oder Einzelbetten, eigenem Bad, Moskitonetzen, Kamin und Veranda mit Blick auf die üppigen tropischen Gärten stehen zur Verfügung. In diesem „Garten Eden“, seit 1978 UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe, haben Sie gute Chancen, alle berühmten „Big Five” zu beobachten. Neben Elefanten, Büffeln, Leoparden und zahlreichen Löwen beherbergt der Krater auch mehr als zwanzig Nashörner. Diese teilen sich das relativ kleine Areal von nur 260 Quadratkilometern mit unzähligen Gnus, Antilopen, Zebras und fast allen weiteren Vertretern der ostafrikanischen Tierwelt. Nach unserer unvergesslichen Pirschfahrt verlassen wir den Ngorongoro Krater und das gleichnamige Schutzgebiet und fahren zu unserer heutigen Unterkunft in Karatu. Am Nachmittag fahren wir durch das Ngorongoro Schutzgebiet weiter in die Serengeti. Die Piste führt durch dichte Bergwälder entlang des Ngorongoro Kraterrandes und hinab in die Kurzgrassavanne der Serengeti. Unterwegs bieten sich fantastische Ausblicke in die Caldera des Ngorongoro Kraters, auf die mächtigen Vulkanberge des Hochlandes und über die scheinbar unendlichen Ebenen, welche nur hier und da von einzelnen „Kopjes“ – glatt geschliffenen Granithügeln – unterbrochen werden. **Fahrzeit ca. 4-5 Stunden (160 km)** Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen - Geführte Pirschfahrt im Ngorongoro Krater ### Serengeti View Camp Das Serengeti View Camp ist ein mobiles Camp. Je nachdem, wo sich der "Circle of life" – der Kreislauf des Lebens (Jäger und Gejagter) – innerhalb des Nationalparks gerade befindet, dahin wandert auch das Camp. Im Verlauf des Jahres werden die spektakulärsten und natürlich am besten für die Tierbeobachtung geeigneten Stellen ausgewählt, damit die Besucher immer möglichst nah dran sind am Leben der Wildtiere. Das Camp bietet allen nötigen Komfort und verzichtet bewusst auf überflüssigen Luxus. Geschlafen wird in geräumigen Canvas-Zelten mit richtigen Betten (keine Liegen). Jedes Zelt verfügt über ein Bad mit Dusche und WC. Das Küchenteam sorgt für gesunde und leckere Verpflegung, während man sich auf Safari befindet. Hierbei werden wir mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit auch Elefanten, Büffel, Giraffen, Strauße und viele andere Tiere zu Gesicht bekommen, mit viel Glück vielleicht sogar Geparden auf der Jagd oder einen Leoparden, welcher die Tagesstunden gerne im Geäst eines Baumes verbringt. Auf Sandbänken entlang der Flüsse sonnen sich Krokodile, tiefere Gewässerabschnitte werden von dicht gedrängten Flusspferdherden bevölkert. Nachdem wir das Ngorongoro Schutzgebiet verlassen haben, fahren wir weiter zum letzten Nationalpark unserer Safari - dem elefantenreichen Tarangire Nationalpark. Dort angekommen unternehmen wir natürlich direkt eine Pirschfahrt, um auch diesen Park sowie seine artenreiche Tierwelt kennenzulernen. Riesige Baobab Bäume prägen die Landschaft und bilden eine grandiose Kulisse. Da unsere heutige Unterkunft innerhalb des Parks liegt, werden wir wieder eine besondere Nacht inmitten der Natur des Tarangire Nationalparks genießen. **Fahrzeit ca. 6-7 Stunden (290 km)** Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen - Geführte Pirschfahrt im Serengeti NP (auf dem Weg zum Gate) - Geführte Pirschfahrt im Tarangire NP ### Tarangire View Tented Lodge Die Tarangire View Tented Lodge ist ein semipermanentes Camp, das mitten im Nationalpark und direkt an einem Flussufer des Tarangire River gelegen ist. Semipermanent ist es deshalb, weil es in der Regenzeit im April und Mai abgebaut wird. Im Schatten der großen Akazien und Leberwurstbäume bietet es sechs geräumige und komfortabel eingerichtete Zelte, die ihren Besuchern äußerste Privatsphäre bieten, während sie unvergessliche Nächte in einem von Tansanias schönsten Nationalparks verbringen. Vor allem große Herden von Elefanten, für welche der Tarangire berühmt ist, geben sich dann ein Stelldichein. Während unserer morgendlichen Pirschfahrt können wir hoffentlich möglichst viele Vertreter der Tierwelt des Tarangire Nationalparks entdecken. Alternativ können wir heute auch nach Sansibar oder Mafia Island für einen entspannten Aufenthalt am Indischen Ozean fliegen oder wir reisen in den Süden Tansanias für eine weitere Safari. Sollte vor dem Rück- oder Weiterflug noch Zeit sein, kann man diese gemütlich am Pool verbringen, eine kleine Wanderung in die Umgebung unternehmen oder an einer Vogelbeobachtungstour teilnehmen. Wird ein Visum benötigt? Deutsche Staatsangehörige benötigen für die Reise nach Tansania einen sechs Monate über die Rückreise hinaus gültigen Reisepass und ein Visum. Dieses kann für 50 US-Dollar online beantragt werden. In Tansania kann man das Visum momentan auch noch an den Grenzübergängen oder Flughäfen bekommen, wobei wir generell eine Beantragung über das Online-Verfahren empfehlen. Am 01.10.2024 wurde eine Pflichtversicherung eingeführt, welche alle Reisende mit Aufenthalten auf Sansibar vor der Anreise abschließen müssen. Auch der Kilimandscharo lässt sich in diesen Monaten am besten besteigen. ### Welche Airlines fliegen nach Tansania? Was muss ich beachten? Internationale Airlines wie KLM, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines und Ethiopian Airlines fliegen Tansania an, mit den internationalen Flughäfen in Dar es Salaam und Kilimanjaro als Hauptzielen.
